FAQs
How does our motorcycle training software work?
Here are some frequently asked questions that come up with interested schools:
How much does eRider cost?
Total Control pays eRider a usage fee per student, but MSI itself does not charge sponsors for eRider.
What happens if students have technical issues?
Most technical issues (99%) can be attributed to minor errors and solved with minimal support. Student support is provided by their training providers / the MTC school directly. eRider does not have access to students’ full account information and every school handles their own student communication differently.
Digital Learning Innovations provides detailed onboarding training and on-going technical support to training providers as well as a step-by-step user manual to troubleshoot common technical errors.
eRider replaces the in-person knowledge test. How does the testing work? Is it the same as in-person? What does the final grade consist of?
Students have to pass all 6 chapters of eRider. Every chapter has a final quiz that will make up the final pass/ fail grade. This test is copyright-protected, and approved by CHP, CMSP and Total Control. This open-book quiz consists of 360 questions.
The final score is the ratio of the number of questions answered correctly to the number of total questions. It is an open-book test and hence questions are different from the in-person test.
This testing method is considered valid and equivalent to in-person testing by CHP, CMSP and Total Control.
What happens when a student fails the test, mid-chapter or final? Can they still continue eRider and/ or attend range class? How do they retake the test?
If a student fails the mid-chapter quiz, they can still move on with eRider and complete their course. They can also attend the range sessions. If a student fails eRider, the retest option will e enabled at midnight on the day of range 2, after range completion. This timing is mandated by Total Control.
If students also fail their retake, they must take the entire course again, including eRider. It is considered a failed knowledge test so students will not receive their license.
If students successfully complete eRider, they will have lifetime access to eRider.
